Scarlett Griffin President and Founder

Scarlett started the company in March 2014 as a start-up after working in this industry for several years. With a natural entrepreneurial spirit, Scarlett took on this challenging and rewarding business.  She did everything from verification of benefits, to billing, to utilization review and collections. The work lent Scarlett first-hand experience in billing that is unmatched.

What literally started with one desk, a computer, and a printer has grown to a successful billing company that employs nine people. Scarlett manages the company’s day-to-day business and is in close contact with each facility’s owner. With a full staff, Scarlett focuses more on contracts with insurance companies, negotiating rates, and educating herself in all aspects of this ever-changing business.

Scarlett is the mom of three boys, Cody, 19, McKeel, 16, and Easton, 3. Brandon and she have been married for ten years and live in Greenbrier, Arkansas. She is the proud dog mom of an 11-year-old Weimaraner named Bevo and a miniature Dachshund, Isabella. She has a BS in Organizational Management a minor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from John Brown University. 

 

 

Christine Archer Accounts Receivable Manager & Marketing Co-Chair

Christine has worked closely with Scarlett helping to define this company’s vision and mission, and sharpen everyone’s communication internally and externally. She is originally from Little Rock and has lived all of her life in the central Arkansas area.

With a BS in Organizational Management and a minor in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from John Brown University, and with additional degrees in English and a Masters in Secondary Education, Christine is comfortable in a classroom or a library. Christine is a professional proofreader who has overseen three published book projects and numerous scholarly articles.

Wally and she love their positions within SBCo. and especially relish that they are in their home office together, working side by side. Wally is Christine’s technical ‘rock’, and she is the family’s English language guru. They share their home with their two teenaged sons, Joshua and Caleb, two cats, and a large cache of books. If Christine is not reading, she’s probably experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen. 

 

 

Wally Archer IT Manager, Advanced MD Billing Management

Walter Archer, aka ‘Wally’ to all his friends and colleagues, is a utilization review manager for SBCo. He is in close contact with our facilities and insurance companies, working hard to ensure all of our clients get the most coverage possible for their treatment.

Equally important to all of the team here at SBCo., Wally is our IT manager and is leading our transition to AdvancedMD billing management software.

Wally has a BS in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas. Previously, he worked at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) for 23 years, first in the OR as an anesthesia tech, and then on the IT side. He worked for many years at UAMS’ Area Health Education Centers as their state-wide and local branches IT director. Finally, Wally became certified in Epic as UAMS transitioned all of its medical records on to this new, comprehensive platform.

For fun, you may find Wally operating his drone, playing video games with his two teenaged boys, or working crossword puzzles. He and his wife, Christine, have been married for 28 years and reside in North Little Rock, Arkansas. 

 

 

April Clark Billing Manager

April makes sure that all clients are billed weekly. She corresponds with the team, making sure things run smoothly and get done in a timely manner.

This year I will be married to my soul mate for 12 years. I have 2 beautiful children, one teenaged boy and a daughter who just turned double digits. They are the light of my life. I love music, spending time with friends and family and being able to contribute to my family’s finances.

I check claim status and make sure claims get paid. I also enter correspondence letters and check on appeals.

I grew up in Bodcaw, Arkansas, where I have lived all my life. I have been married for 41 years this coming August to my husband Randy. We have two children, daughter April and a son Chris. We also have two Grandchildren, Carter and Carlee. I love spending time with my family and friends, and working for Southern Billing Co. 

 

 

Rhonda Givens Pre-authorizations

Rhonda is our Utilization Review manager and she started with SBCo in 2016. Her education includes study at the University of Central Arkansas and Southern Arkansas University in Marketing, and she finished up her degree at Parks College in Denver. SBCo is fortunate to have Rhonda on our team since her medical billing expertise goes back 15+ years. Daily, what Rhonda brings to the table is her personal understanding for what patients have been through, what they are going through now, and what they will experience in the future. She flawlessly gets patients authorized for all levels of care during their stay in a facility, and keeps abreast of all medical criteria required by insurance.

Kim Brady Insurance Verification

Kim is the insurance verification manager for SBCo. and has been with us since 2016. Each patient gets Kim’s full attention and care, and she maximizes the amount of service they are eligible for from their individual insurance companies. Careful attention to detail and a caring personality are huge assets to our clients.
